Podracers are in the game; they just race separately from the other three vehicle classes because of their size and speed. The star wars galactic racer podracer lineup has six playable pilots: Dud Bolt, Gasgano, Teemto Pagalies, Sebulba, Ben Quadinaros and Ody Mandrell. You can podrace in Arcade from the start, in the campaign from Act 2 through Sebulba's memory races, and online once you reach Multiplayer Rank 5.

Which podracers can you play?

GasganoMultiplayer Podracing
Teemto PagaliesMultiplayer Podracing
SebulbaMultiplayer Podracing, Arcade from the start, campaign memory races
Ben QuadinarosMultiplayer Podracing
Ody MandrellMultiplayer Podracing

Anakin Skywalker is not one of the six. Gasgano also shows up as "Gagano" in some early launch-day writeups; it is the same pilot. For each pilot's traits and tradeoffs, see the star wars galactic racer character list.

In Multiplayer you do not unlock the six one by one: all of them are available automatically as soon as Podracing opens at Multiplayer Rank 5. Sebulba is also playable in Arcade straight away.

How do you unlock podracing?

There are three routes, and each mode has its own rule, so do not mix them up.

Arcade: available from the start

Arcade lets you podrace as soon as you start the game. Later Arcade tracks open once you finish the previous one with at least bronze, which means third place. This is the quickest way in if you just want to fly a Podracer tonight.

Campaign: Sebulba's memory races in Act 2

Act 1 has no podracing. At the end of Act 1 you beat Sebulba, and from Act 2 you can find him in each planet's hub and talk to him to start his memory races, where you race as a young Sebulba.

The first race is Memories of Mos Espa on Tatooine. Take gold there and Legends of Speed on Lantaana opens next. If the next entry in the list is still a question mark, you have not hit gold on the race above it yet.

Do not mix this up with Arcade: Arcade only asks for bronze, but these memory races want first place.

Campaign: Shade's own podracer in Act 3

At the end of Act 2, Kestar steals Sebulba's podracer. Sebulba asks Shade to get it back, which leads into Shade's podracing training in Act 3. Talk to the mechanic standing next to Sebulba in the hub: Hibi builds your podracer and Sebulba becomes your mentor.

You get a rusty old podracer on Tatooine and take it for a test flight. Expect it to feel rough: it keeps pulling sideways and the engines overheat, which is the point of the Act 3 training.

Once the test flight is done, optional podracing events appear on your campaign map. Each new planet in Act 3 also brings a podracing challenge, and losing one costs you a League token, so only take those on when you feel ready.

Multiplayer: Quick Podrace and Podracing Tour

Quick Podrace is an 8-player race with no upgrades. Podracing Tour unlocks at Multiplayer Rank 5 and takes 8 players across 5 planets, with upgrades between races. If the Tour option is still locked, check your Multiplayer Rank before anything else. The star wars galactic racer multiplayer page covers lobbies and party limits.

Is a podracer worth learning?

Podracers trade safety and durability for raw speed, so they forgive mistakes less than landspeeders do. If you are new, learn the Arcade tracks first, then take on the gold-only memory races. When you have the six pilots unlocked, compare all four classes on the star wars galactic racer vehicles page and the planets on the star wars galactic racer how many tracks page.
