CampaignAct I Qualifier

Sebulba is your one-on-one Galactic League qualifier at the end of Act I in Tour mode. If you're working out how to beat Sebulba in STAR WARS: Galactic Racer™, prioritize Afterburner and Ramjet upgrades on one vehicle, use Autopilot through the first two corners if you have it, and protect yourself with a shield when you close in to attack.

DSPGaming's stream reaches the Sebulba qualifier in part 2:

What should you upgrade before facing Sebulba?

You need enough speed to stay near Sebulba, then chances to disrupt him. You don't drive a podracer in this race.

Focus Tuning Points on one vehicle: recommended

At the end of every run, you earn Tuning Points whether you qualify or fail. Spend them when selecting your vehicle at the beginning of the next tour to permanently improve its base stats.

For Sebulba, the recommended priorities are Afterburner and Ramjet. They keep you close enough to interfere with him.

Spread points across several vehicles

This splits your permanent upgrades across vehicles you may barely use. For this qualifier, one vehicle is better. For how runs work, see STAR WARS: Galactic Racer runs.

No one has confirmed a required level or specific Afterburner or Ramjet value for beating Sebulba, so don't treat a particular number as an entry requirement.

Which parts should you take during the tour?

Before the duel, races, mysterious encounters, and other events provide rewards that improve your vehicle. Use those choices to support the same two stats you've been permanently upgrading.

Reward effect to prioritizeWhy it helps against SebulbaWhat to check
More frequent Afterburner or Ramjet useGives you more opportunities to keep paceThe part or upgrade explicitly improves use frequency
Better recharge rateHelps those tools become usable again soonerThe reward describes a recharge improvement
Higher overall speedSupports staying close enough to challenge himThe reward describes a speed improvement

No single part set is required. The STAR WARS: Galactic Racer best build page is the next place to explore build choices.

How should you handle the opening corners and attacks?

Use Autopilot at the first two corners if you have it

One player found Autopilot especially useful around the first two corners. The danger here is oversteering into lava or taking a poor line that slows you down.

Shield when you get close to Sebulba

Once you're near him, use your shield to protect yourself or limit the effectiveness of his abilities.

Try to take him down, then use disruption if needed

Race more aggressively than you may have in earlier events. Try to make Sebulba crash, putting him farther behind you. If you struggle to cause a crash, use your abilities to sabotage his vehicle instead. Contact alone isn't enough; he has to crash.

Don't spam your strongest abilities without considering the track position. Autopilot at the opening corners and a shield near Sebulba address different problems. The first helps avoid an expensive steering mistake; the second helps protect you during a close confrontation.

What should you change after a failed attempt?

A loss still earns Tuning Points. Put that permanent progress into your preferred vehicle before the next tour, then adjust the parts, upgrades, and abilities you take during the run.

Use the failure to choose your next priority. If you couldn't keep up, return to the Afterburner and Ramjet recommendations. If the opening corners sent you into lava or onto a slow line, try the Autopilot timing above when you have that ability. If you stayed close but struggled to make him crash, try ability-based disruption and time your shield for the confrontation.

Beating Sebulba gets you into the Galactic League. In Act II, Shade can talk to him in each planet's hub, and later he offers the Tales of Podracing events.
